Course Description :This Course provides a base of general earth science knowledge, which would help the student, better understand the natural world of which we are an inseparable part. This course includes four major units as follows: Earth materials: Earth and the universe; Minerals; Rocks (Igneous, Sedimentary, and metamorphic); Processes that shape the earth surface: Weathering and Soils; Mass wasting; Surface and ground water; Volcanic Activity; Wind and Deserts; The Evolving Earth: Rock Deformation; Earthquakes; Plate Tectonics; Geologic Time scale; Fluid spheres: Oceans; Atmosphere.
